What to expect
So you can arrive feeling confident and prepared
The Pre Visit
Once you book your appointment, you’ll receive a few messages from me welcoming you to the space! Keep an eye out for your new guest welcome email, which includes helpful details on navigating the area and a little more about the salon.
Arriving
The salon is located inside a creative loft in West Town, home to a community of artists and designers. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see “1431” just above the front door. Free street parking is available on Hubbard Street and can be tricky, so SpotHero spots in the surrounding area are a great option.
Getting In
At the door you'll find the ButterflyMX intercom system. Tap Directory, select Unit 202, City & Shore, and press Call. A member of our team will let you in remotely from the studio!
Finding Us
Take the stairs to the second floor and walk through the door marked North Stair, Level 2. Make an immediate left, and the City & Shore front door will be right there. Welcome to our space!
Settling In
Our floor plan is intentionally open, with no receptionist, so please make yourself cozy in the waiting area to the left of the front door while I prepare for your visit. Before getting started, we’ll take a quick tour on the way to my chair, and you’re always welcome to help yourself to snacks and beverages.
The consultation
Once we make our way to my station, we’ll begin with a thorough consultation. I believe first dates are important, so we’ll spend about 20 minutes getting to know each other and your hair. We’ll talk through not just your goals for today but your vision for ongoing visits, along with your lifestyle, budget and desired maintenance.
We’ll also take time to discuss why you’re looking for a new stylist and how I can best support you on the way to your healthiest hair yet. Have you ever left an appointment feeling unheard? I never want you to feel that way here, so we’ll talk about past experiences that didn’t feel quite right and what we want to avoid going forward.
I’m a visual person, so please bring plenty of inspiration photos! I also love all the questions, so I'm always down to chat!
Before we begin your transformation, we’ll take a few photos and videos so we can track your progress over time. Throughout your soft color journey, every treatment and formula is logged in my records system, so everything is ready and waiting for you at each visit.
During your session
The rest of the appointment is yours!
I love getting to know everyone who sits in my chair. We might trade restaurant recommendations or travel plans, or talk about the book you can’t put down. If you’d rather answer emails or enjoy some quiet, that’s completely fine too. Come as you are and spend the time however feels best to you.
Throughout our session, I’ll share recommendations to help you recreate and maintain your look at home. I never want you to feel like you need a 15-step routine. Together, we’ll create an aftercare routine you can follow consistently without overcommitting.
I also believe in a true one-on-one experience. I’ll never double-book or rush through your session to get to the next guest. During our time together, the attention is all on you.
After the chair
Lastly we'll finish with after photos and we'll sit down to review our customized hair schedule and maintenance plan to map out your follow-up appointments, so you never miss a chance to catch up!
After everything's settled in, within 24-48 hours, you’ll receive a personal message from me, thanking you for your time and ensuring you're feeling comfortable with your look. Be sure to add me to your contacts so you never miss an important update from me!
